Salman Khan finally learns to mince his words after rape remark
The Sultan actor vowed to speak less at an IIFA press conference
After getting embroiled in a controversy over his 'rape' analogy, Sultan actor Salman Khan seems to have adopted a new mantra--to keep it short and simple.
The superstar believes it is better if he talks less. Can you believe it?
At a press conference to mark the opening of the 17th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) in Madrid, the Kick star took the stage to talk about his experience at the four-day gala till now.
The actor said: "I know it has been a long evening, so I will make it short, quick."
This prompted a woman--who we can only assume is an ardent Salman fan--from the audience to yell out "no" and urged him to be on stage for a bit longer.
Though it seemed the reason why Salman wanted to mince his words was jet lag, he quickly made it clear that the rape remark he made while promoting Sultan is the real reason behind Bhaijaan's new policy.
"I have to make it. The shorter I keep, the better it is," he said, breaking his fan's heart.
For those living under a rock, here's a refresher course: Salman courted controversy after he said he felt like a "raped woman" walking out of a ring in his role as a wrestler for Sultan.
Good sense finally prevailed as a couple of days later, he up with this regretful statement "I don't think I should have", adding that he found it hard to walk.
Salman still has three days of IIFA ahead of him, so here's hoping--for the sake of his career--he sticks to his sensible policy.
